I was again playing with the awesome Sale-A-Bration Sycamore Street DSP (FREE with a $60 order!!), and came up with a pretty trendy card, me thinks. The colors and everything remind me of spring, on a day when we had a winchill of -45C or -49F. Yep, it's cold, but in the craft room, it is looking brighter.
Pool Party, Island Indigo (same color as this card), Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral, all come together for a crisp card that has a springtime feel. I used the new hexagon embossing folder for the bottom of the card, but made my own medallion to go under the sentiment. Wanna know how ??
I just used this edgelit die and flipped it each way to make the crumb cake and indigo island layers. EASY !! I just eyeballed it to make sure it was centered. The sentiment is nicely embossed with white and then I also added the paper piercing. There is a lot of textures and patterns on this card, yet it still remains a simple look, I think. The butterfly was punched twice ; once with calypso coral and then card stock weight vellum. I glued them together in the center and then added the pearls to the body. The pearls on the layer and the ribbon were the finishing touches. Hope you like it. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Great post...

Great card Julie!! I just love the new hexagon embossing folder. Neat way to create your medallion!! Wow!! Minus 49 degrees, now that is COLD!! I hate to brag or anything but here in Western New York we were in the mid 50's(F)today and it is supposed to be warmer tomorrow. We've had really funky weather this year. Thanks for sharing your card!! Hugs!!

Hi Julie,
Love all the textures! The butterfly is so delicate and the DIY medallion is a great trick.
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. MINUS 49? WOW! It's an unusually warm 60 degrees here today and that -49 just gave me a chill!!! Stay warm and craft on!
