Paper Pleasing Ideas

Shipmate's Color

I was WAY  behind the 8-ball, and only sent out the color challenge to Lindsey last night !! This is what I found for us :

I absolutely fell in love with these colors, but mostly that pattern. I wish I had paper like that!!

So, anyway, I decided to go ahead with a guy card, since they are kinda a rare-ish thing. And these colors lend themselves fabulously to a masculine theme. and for some reason, they threw me a sailor's vibe, so that is the direction I headed in with my card.

I even googled "Sailor's Knot", so I could make it even better. This is a super simple card - the knot was the hardest thing about it!. Made my own DSP with the ledger stamp from The Open Sea set, and sahara sand ink / card stock. The rest of the colors are white, marina mist, and night of navy. I think it turned out pretty great, and another one for the gentleman's stockpile !

Just For You, Valentine !

This week, our only challenge was Clean and Simple (CAS card). I decided to re-use the last sketch we did, since it totally fit the criteria. I did want to put a spin on it, though, and came up with a window card !!

Most of my {heart} confetti got covered up in the silver glitter, but I still love it. I tried also to make it look quilted, but not sure if I succeeded, LOL. Lots of empty space with the center taking up all the attention.

A Sketchy Boat

So, did everyone enjoy their Christmas break? I sure did, and for the first time in over 3 years, my whole family was together at my old house in Saskatchewan (my sister is living there right now) !! It was a such a great time, awkward {a bit} for my hubby, since he doesn't know them that well, but good.

As you can see, Lindsey and I also enjoyed a rest from our blogs, but back at'er today with a sketch for you! We decided that a simple sketch would get the juices flowing, without a shock to the system ... LOL

Though, sometimes, these Clean and Simple designs can be the hardest to work with, but are PERFECT for a masculine card, so that is what I threw together.

Simple and crisp, spot on for a gentleman in your life. The boat is a manly image, the blending of the water under it, with the binder twine is "just enough" accessories for the feel, and the simple font for the sentiment just fits with the theme.
