WOW - Fast Forward Motion

Everything is flying by so fast, so much stuff getting done getting ready for the wedding and also moving!!  I promised you the wedding invite, so here it is ...

We are so excited, and the boys are pumped for "our" wedding. Todayis tuxedo ordering day, and John is coming as well.  He is staying with my parents until the wedding - YAY !!

We have also found a house and are moving at the end of November when we get back from our honeymoon. So many things happening and yet everything is falling into place. Thanks for your prayers and words of encouragement, we really appreciate it.

A Family In The Making

 

Wow, I am SO BLESSED !!

Here is the first picture for you of us together, though if you are my friend on facebook, you may have seen more. A friend of mine offered us the photo session as a gift - check out A+ Photography.

We had a blast bonding together as a family this past weekend, and the boys love him as much as I do (no surprise there for me). Dylan cried for 3 hours after he flew back to Grande Prairie, and they already call him Daddy. Melts this Momma's heart to know that they are so accepting of this and truly feel that way about him.

Today is wedding dress shopping day, with my BFF Ronna and my Mom, because we SET A DATE !!

November 12 is the big day, and there is so much to do between now and then. Invitations, dresses, flowers, tuxes, catering menu, limo rental, etc. We do have a few things set in stone, but for me the coolest thing is Dylan and Jayden are going to walk me down the aisle. We are getting married as a family, and they tell everyone that ... "We are getting married", not "Mom is getting married". I am so glad that they feel so much a part of this!

Well, I had best get ready for my big day today, tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

Where In The World Is Julie ?!?

I am here and missing all of you!!

Boys are now on their second day in school, and actually loving it. I think they really missed seeing the friends through the summer months. I also just got back from a mini trip, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Dylan and Jayden were LOVING the waterslide at the hotel we were at, and I had to go up the stairs with them a few times myself. It was a pretty fast ride down to the bottom, but so much fun.

I am trying to get my life organized right now. The kitchen cupboards are first, getting rid of stuff that I haven't used in forever. But my head is swimming with ideas for my new bedroom. I am making it mine, calm and serene. Here is an example I made up on the BEHR website.

 

A smokey aqua for the walls, the same cream trim I have and the same beige carpet.The basic grey color is going to be the accent for my curtains, and linens, while the duvet is THIS ONE from Ikea. I also got a ton of black and white pictures for the walls. I am excited for the change!! I'll take before and after photos so you can see the difference, it will be HUGE ... lol.

Also, I have been trying to find a job that would suit me and my schedule of house building, Zumba classes and stamping classes. Well, I prayed a lot about it, because it CANNOT take away from  the boys. I need to be with them, and they are my first priority. So many options were gone over for months.

I AM GOING TO BE A NAIL TECHNICIAN !! I start my classes on September 12, and am excited to work from home, and make my own hours, but still be available when I need to be. Seems like September is a month of big changes, but I hope to be back to posting ASAP.

Back Again

Man, summer is not working for the whole blog thing, at least for me ... LOL

I am working on getting the house going (pictures soon), managing the acreage here at home, house work, cabin and the yard there to keep up, getting ready for school, and in the midst of that, trying to have a life. The life that I have for myself is not that exciting with all the work, so I took the boys to the lake last week.

We had a blast, did some beach time and fishing time. Both Dylan and the dog got unexpected baths in the lake. The dog, from  me throwing him in, and Dylan from trying to catch minnows with his hands and falling in head first. I still cannot stop laughing about that. In the evenings, we have been having a fire if it is calm, even at home.

I am going to be at home this week, so hoping to get back to stamping. It was fun last week to get in my craft room everyday! I am also cleaning and purging my craft room, hoping to have a sale of retired and unused stuff very soon.

Well, today is a work day, so I better get back to it. I am purging my kitchen today, and my cupboards are getting a cleaning. So have more fun than me, and happy stamping!!

One Year Ago

My little family received news that rocked our world! I still remember that day like it was yesterday. One year ago, my late husband Russ, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Liver and Colon cancer. He had an ultrasound at 9 in the morning, and he called me around 10 saying they found spots. Then he asked if instead of coming home, could he go see our pastor. I said most definitely. I spent the new few hours calling everyone that was most important (family, and closest friends) to tell them what we knew. See up until this day, there were so many other possibilities on the table. Russ had been through 3 weeks of tests already. By the time he came home, people were already over, and while I was glad for the support, I wish we would have had that day to ourselves. I knew my hubby well, and he was not a people person. I could see in his eyes, he just wanted me. To be honest, he probably would have even liked the boys gone for the day. But Russ was also gracious, and everyone stayed, helped with yard work, and talked until late evening. That night though, we held each other and cried, not really talking. While it was nice to finally know, it was a devastating answer. I can honestly say, that not once did I say it was unfair, or even think it. I have never been angry with God for this, either. I can truly say that God has never failed me or let me down. In fact, without him, I would never have made it this far, and have many things to be grateful for! There are so many others less fortunate than me and I would rather thank God for our blessings than hate him for problems. Life is too short to spend in worry, unforgiveness and hatred. It only cripples those who dwell in it. Today is the day that the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it ! Psalm 118:24

My Facebook Status

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information & wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy ... we are enormously cultured, educated & happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, "Good grief look how smart I am, I must be a genius!"

Another friend had it and I HAD to use it - to awesome!!

 

Home Again

I made it home on Saturday, having only 1/2 an hour until I had to be at church for a DVBS meeting. I am worship leader again this year, and I think I will need another vacation after this week ... Lol. Sunday, I got to pick up my boys and headed back to church. We had a great day hanging out together and they sure were clingy, holding my hands, sitting on my lap, making me feel all loved *smiles*. I do have pictures to share and a card that I stamped, but this week is still super swamped until Saturday. Hopefully you can wait until then, and keep me in your prayers so I will have all the energy needed to finish out the week. I miss hangning out with you, so until next time ... On Vacation

I am all the way out in Invermere, British Columbia - BY MYSELF !! The kids stayed at home with babysitter's, so I could recharge and have a break. I wanted to blog, but I can't figure out how to get pictures on here with my BlackBerry. I am posting pictures on Facebook, if you want to follow along there.
