One of my closest friends sister-in-laws is also my husbands aunt's sister. And so?
She has been in a hospital bed for about 5 months now. At first, they thought it was just a RAGING infection. She was down to appr. 65 lbs, and had to go on the strongest dose of antibiotics available. It turns out they nicked her bowel when the did a surgery years ago and it was slowly leaking into her system. She was almost septic, but they saved her. And when they got all of that under control, they found out she has cancer and does not have long to live. I know her, and she is a wonderful, God-fearing woman. She is having a hard time with this, since she just had her first grand daughter. I ask you to pray for her. Here is a card that I made for the whole family.
I really LOVE this Stampin' Up! set, Thoughts & Prayers, especially for occasions like this. I saw this sketch somewhere in blog land, and for the life of me cannot find it again! I loved it, and so that became my layout, and the color combo came from the DP (Parisian Breeze) in the squares.
I started with a 5 X 5 chocolate base, and ran the creamy caramel through the Big Shot with SU's Texture Plates (this one matched the DP perfectly!!). I then sponged the edges with close to cocoa, and added the punched DP (1 3/8 and 1 1/4 punches).
I inked up the image with bashful blue, and thumped (Tutorial) on some chocolate ink with my marker. I stamped it on vanilla and sponged the edges in caramel. The sentiment was stamped in chocolate. I then cut all my mats, but before I glued them together, I used punches to get the indent for the ribbon.
I punched the chocolate one with the 1/2 circle, then blue with the 3/4 and the vanilla with the 1 inch. I tied my ribbon where I wanted it, and then lined up the indent, attaching the image panel with dimensionals.
I also printed off a sentiment from Encouraging Verses on the inside of the card. These are on sale right now over at All That Scraps!! I really hope they like it, and I also hope it gives them some encouragement for the next while.
