Are you ready to learn something new?? I put together a tutorial on making clouds, since the challenge today was to make a scenic card.
I didn't know what the cloud template was , and so when SU retired it, never bought it. BIG MISTAKE (for me), and so I after I learned how to use it, I made my own. I cut a cloud shape out of CS, because I needed it to withstand repeated sponging. I now use a scallop circle punched out of CS. You lay the shape on your card and sponge the ink or pastels off, for this sample I used bashful blue ink. The last picture shows how you can layer the clouds, but it will be different everytime, since your scenes will be different. Here is the card I made today for the TLC on Splitcoast.
All products used are Stampin' Up! I used rose red, regal rose and whisper white CS. I am kicking myself now, becauseI would have been nicer ahd I used watercolor paper, because the colors blend better.
I stamped the girl (Summer by the Sea) and the trees (Lovely as a Tree) in black Stazon, so I could watercolor without worrying if my ink was going to run.
I then sponged on my clouds above the trees with bashful blue ink. I used the small fern stamp from the Watercolor Minis set, to fill in my trees with old olive and always artichoke. I watercolored the girl with my watercolor wonder crayons and then sponged the grassy area in with artichoke.
I stamped the sentiment from the SAB Delight in Life set, both on the scene and on rose red CS. I then cut out the small flower to glue on the card, to make my flower stand out. I then matted it, and now you know how to make a card *picture* that tells a story. Have fun and happy stamping!!
