I decided to make another video, since I woulda had to take WAY too many pictures for this tutorial.  I am going to show you how to make Christmas Card Ornaments.  I have seen cards made like this, but not with directions, so I'm here to help.

Here are is one card that I made, using CC Designs stamps from All That Scraps (sentiment and snowflakes).

I totally {heart} how this could pass off for an ornament - I mean, you could totally customize this for each friend, to make it match their tree.  Wouldn't it be cool to walk in their house and see your card hanging for all to gawk at ?

The directions on how to make this card are in the video, so I will just let you know what I added to this card, as opposed to the one in the video.

I got this AWESOME May Arts velvet ric rac from All That Scraps - it is dreamy.  I added that to the front to give it more of an ornament feel, and then the brads for some added bling.

Through the eyelet on the top, I added some more May Arts Ivory Satin ribbon.  This is really good quality, lovely to tie and so shiney.

I think I'm going to try to figure out some way to hold it shut, like magnetic tape, since it wants to open when you hold it by the ribbon.

Now for the tutorial - get your supplies.  You will need a piece of 8.5 X 4.25 CS, a coluzzle, and embellishments of your choosing.  Let's get started...

Answers to Questions and a Tutorial

OK - FIRST : I have been getting your emails about you NOT getting my emails...hehehe, that's sound like it should be a TV show between blondes, OH WAIT...I am blonde.  So anyway, it turns out there is nothing I can do.  Typepad has been hit by a virus or something and it seems very random the blogs that were hit.  They are working hard to resolve the problem, and should have it fixed next week - YAY!!  In the meantime, maybe check your spam folder and see if it may have started going in there, and redirect it to your mailbox.

SECONDLY - A Tutorial!!  Have you seen all the beautiful ornaments that people have been making with the patterned paper?  It turns out, that it was a project that was demonstrated at the Stampin' Up! convention this year, and I wanted to give y'all a little tutorial on how to make them YOUR OWN!

For this one, I used vellum, since I wanted something really fancy (I seen one like this at an upline metting, and LOVED it).  I took a sheet of vellum and cut it the long way, so I would have a piece that was 4.25 X 11.  I stamped it with baroque morifs and versamark, and embossed it with silver.  I then cut it into 1 X 4.25 strips, you should get 11 though you will only need 7 or 8, depending on how full you want it to look.

Then you line them all up on top of each other, and punch a hole on each end.  I used the crop-a-dile, since it went through all the layers like BUTTAH!  Then you take a piece of ribbon (mine is WalMart silver stuff) about 14-16 inches long and knot the two ends together.  Push it up, through the holes, making sure that the side you want facing out will be bubbled like in the middle picture.  Then you make another knot on top of that, so the papers won't slide up, and it not be a ball anymore...LOL.  Then you just spread them apart, to get the desired ornament - EASY PEASY.  I made one with DP,a s well, and it took me only about 7 mins to complete - Can you say WOW?!?  Oh wait, you wanna see them first...

I really like the vellum one - try embossing to match the colors that you decorate your tree with.  It will be amazing!!  Now for the DP one, I used the Wintergreen pack from Stampin' Up!, and May Arts Ivory Ribbon from All That Scraps.  I also used the scallop circle punch and the 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 punches to add a sentiment on the bottom of this one.  I punched the 1 3/8 in celery, and the 1 1/4 was punched on shimmery white, after stamping the sentiment in always artichoke from Riveting (retired).  I then used sticky strip to attach it to the bottom ribbon.  The awesome thing about this, is you can ue ANY PAPER.  No imagination required, just switch the paper around and you look like a genius - WOOOHOOO!!  Can't get better than that.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

I Finally Got 'Em !!

I got a huge package in the mail on Friday - My order and design team shtuff from All That Scraps!!  I got the new Halloween set (individually here).  I am not a Halloween person at all, so I was not sure if I could make something for this season.  I know people do have parties for the occasion, so I decide to make something for that.

I call these Seat Treats.  They are place settings that have a treat bag hanging on the inside!  Once Andria sees that names, she will know who is getting these...hehehe.  I stamped Kitty Daphne, and the witch and pumpkin bugz with black stazon on white and punched them out with the marvy scalloped circle and ovals.  All the cards are the same wild wasabi base with K & Company DP for the bottom.  I then used pumpkin pie ribbon (Stampin' Up!) to go accross the seams.  I added the punched out images with dimensionals. 

On the kitty oval, I used my 1/16 punch in each of the scallops to make holes for an extra touch.  For the witch, I added 2 Three For You flowers with black brads, and for the pumpkin, I did faux piercing in each scallop with the pumpkin pie marker.  I than stamped the names across, the top with snap stamps and some Wally World alphas in black.  This is what it looks like from  the side and I have a template here, so you can make your own!!

You can make 3 Seat Treats from one shet of 8.5 X 11 CS.  You will cut each strip 3.5 wide by 8.5 long, and score at 4.25.  You will be left with a 1/2 inch strip and you will cut that in lengths of 2.75.  This is what will hold the bottom together, since the candy inside is heavy and will want to make it fall over.  I folded each end up 1/4 inch and attached them with sticky strip. The filled cello bags were stapled on to the back only, and I used the 3 X 5's.  For the front, you can decorate any way you like!  So now when a meal is done, you will have something to munch on, have fun and happy stamping!!
