Triangle Treat (Gift) Box

  When I need a gift box lately, I most often try to make my own.  I designed this one to hold a bottle of lotion, and thought you would like to make one too!  Though, you can put anything you want in it.

 

Here is the top view.  Isn't it great ?!?  I love the colors and the fact that it is a triangle.  This can hold quite a bit actually, since it is just over 5 inches tall!  I made it using white as my base, sponged the score line punched the top with my scallop edge punch.

I then added the DP to the panels, tied the ribbon on the top, and added a scallop piece of CS around the belly of the box.  The images are from Starving Artistamps, and the sentiment from Fresh Cuts (SU).

  You can click on it for a larger view.  You need to score on the dotted and cut on the solid.  Even the funny shaped triangles on the bottom need to be cut (couldn't find a tool for a straight line).  These  will be the bottom of the box.  You may need to cut a bit off the tips to get it to work properly.  Fold the box together, using sticky strip for the glue tab, and then fold the bottoms in, gluing each layer together.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Embossing Silhouettes

This is the last of the cards for my Guest Designership (word ??) for Starving Artistamps.  I had a blast playing with their stamps, and had to go back to my favorite for the final card.

I took the silhouette flowers and stamped them with white craft ink (Stampin' Up!) on kraft CS.  I then brayered over top with my close to cocoa ink, cut it out with my rectangle nestie.  I cut a piece of artichoke CS with the scallop nestie, sponged it with the cocoa ink, and then matted them together.

My base was artichoke, sponged with cocoa, kraft CS and then some basic grey DPfrom the lilykate collection (retired).  I sponged it first with cocoa ink, so that it wouldn't be to white.  I added the strip of kraft CS, and stamped the stitches on the edges in cocoa.  I punched a hole in the image panel and threaded the celery grosgrain through it, attaching it to the base with dimensionals.  I wrapped the ribbon around the card, and tied it all together.  I really like how the image matches the look of the DP.  I left it without a sentiment, that way, it can be used for any occasion.  I hope you enjoyed all my cards, have fun and happy stamping!!

Under The Sea

Everything's better, down where it's wetter, under the sea.

I made this card using Starving Artistamps fish and sea weedimages.  I stamped them on white (except the beta) and colored everything in.  The fish in the BG were inked with sahara sand, stamped off once, so they would look like they were farther in the BG.  I stamped the beta separately, colored and cut it out, adding it to the scene.

I used my rectangle nestie to cut the frame in the bashful CS (I got my nesties from All That Scraps).  I then used the mosaic BGwith sahara sand to make a stone like frame.  I then took a piece of acetate, and brayered on some bashful blue ink.  I attachedit behind the frame, and then added the fish scene.  I punched some night of navy CS with my 1/4 circle and added them under the white brads.  This was then matted onto the navy base.

I stamped the sentiment with navy on white, and cut it like a pendant.  I matted it on navy and cut that piece, as well.  I put a dimensional under the center of the sentiment, but glued the rest right to the card, sit would like like it was waving.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Life is in the Journey

WOOOHOOO - I've changed images...hehehe.  But really, I haven't, since it's another silhouette!  I got it from the equestrian page and I had to get it because I *heart* horses.  I don't have one now (hubby doesn't like them), but when I lived in British Columbia, I used to ride A LOT!  In fact, I went to visit my friend where I used to ride last time I was up there, and they now have around 200 of them.  Oh the beauty of a horse running through a pasture, wind through it's mane!

I tried to capture a horse in motion in the card, by stamping the first one, NOT re-inking and then stamping again, and again.  This was done with chocolate chip ink on kraft CS.  I matted it on some Outlaw DP (retired - Stampin' Up!), added a strip of pierced caramel and them put it all on a chocolate base.  I tore the Dp for a bit of distressing (great for a guy card), and then sponged the white edge with caramel ink.  I stamped the stitchesin chocolate, and then added the punched CS (word window - Stampin' Up!) holding them on with copper brads.  I got them from my local $1 store.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment on the bottom, under my torn edge.  I think this would make a great retirement card for a guy moving on in life.  Hope you enjoy it, as much as I did making it.  All images are from Starving Artistamps.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Circle Fun

This card was totally inspired by the DP from last years Basic Grey Christmas paper - Figgy Pudding.  I really wanted to work with the colors and the circles.

I inked up the silhouette image (have you had enough yet...LOL) with my ruby red and old olive markers, and stamped them on watercolor paper that had been misted with water.  I wanted the bleeding effect.  I then OUTLINED the image with my basic grey marker, stamped it off once and then stamped it over the colors.  I just wanted to define a few areas of the flowers and stems.  I sponged the edges with tempting turquoise (lightly), and punched 2 corners with the corner rounder.  This was matted onto olive that I had punched, as well.

I added the ribbon to the base, and a piece of DP that I had cut with my Coluzzle (SU).  I added the image panel with dimensionals, and the placed the brads around rest of the circle.  I think it all goes nice together, in keeping with the circle theme.  Thanks for popping in, have fun and happy stamping!!

More Silhouettes

I actually made this card LONG before my JCC19 card.  So, in reality, I CASEd myself...hehehe.

I stamped the silhouettes in black and brayered on the sky (Tutorial HERE on SCS).  I used the same colors as the above card, but added white organdy and white taffeta ribbon.  I just love the simplistic look of the card, but trust me...it can be a lot of work to get the BG to look right.  The right paper has a lot to do with it, and I found Stampin' Up! Whisper White to be the best.  Hope you like it, have fun and happy stamping!!

Soft Butterflies

I was asked to be a Guest Designer by Tracey at Starving Artistamps- Ummm, YEAH!  She told me to pick out some stamps, and the first section I headed to was the Silhouette Flowers.  I love the way they look in black on a brayered BG, but they also look amazing when you color them!

I colored these with sage shadow, blush blossom and pretty in pink SU markers before I stamped it on the very vanilla CS.  It was matted on basic grey and the I added a soft sky scalloped edge on the bottom.

The base of the card was sky with grey ink rubbed on the edge.  I then added some K&CO. DP and some blush CS, hiding the seam with the pink ribbon.  I pierced the holes around the sentiment to add a bit more punch to the word.

I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch on shimmery vellum (WorldWin Papers), gluing down the body only.  I then added some Doodlebug Sugared Brads from All That Scraps.  It was then attached to the card with dimensionals.  Hope you like it, as I have a few more to share with you.  Have fun and happy stamping!!
