I got everything ready to show you how to make the flap box I created HERE. Supplies are listed below, so let's get started.
I try to always use the least amount of CS to make the biggest box and this is no exception. You need only one sheet of 8.5 X 10 CS, and this can be of any color that you chose (REMEMBER to cut one inch off so it is 8.5 X 10!!). I went with white but choose a color that would compliment your DSP (patterned paper), or make it with the favorite color of the person it is for. You will also need a scoring tool, scissors, a ruler (not pictured), and liquid glue. I find the Tombow Multi Adhesive is the best for this type of project. It is a very strong holding glue and will not fall apart when you add stuff into your finished project. If you have got everything listed, let's get creating!!

Placing the 10 inch side along the top, score your CS at 1 1/2, 4 1/4, 5 3/4, and 8 1/2. With the 8 1/2 inch side along the top, score it at 1 1/4, 2 3/4, 5 3/4 and 7 1/4.

Fold on all the score lines, burnishing it with the bone folder to make sure the creases are crisp. Now you need to get your CS to look like I have picture on the right. If you click on the picture, you can see the score lines better, to see where you should cut.

The picture with the cut line above is the flap lid. I cut it just inside the score lines, so that it nicely slides in the box without binding. Then, you need the ruler to score from the scored corner, to the bottom corner. You will understand this better in the next picture.

You will fold those creases inward to the center of the box. See those smaller flaps that are on each side of the of the triangular folds? That is the flap that is at the top of the next picture. So, add the glue on the two inner triangle portions.

Fold them in under that small flap and hold them until it is dry. Then add glue to the flap and close it over top of the triangle folds, and shown in the second picture. Don't worry about that score line that is showing, that was my boo-boo
. Then do the same thing on the opposite side of the box.
This s the box after it is put together. Now you just have to decorate it for the occasion that you need it for. In the smaller picture, you see the flap going in - that is why you need to cut that flap inside the score lines as explained earlier. Hope you enjoy making this newest box. Have fun and happy stamping!!
